Hop on a snowmobile for a day in the Tahoe snow or take a tour through the mountain trails and snow-covered trees of South Lake Tahoe. Zephyr Cove Snowmobile Center guides snowmobilers through the back-country trails where the elevation reaches nearly 9,000 feet. This tour provides an incredible vantage point for panoramic views of the lake. Another tour option for snowmobiling around the Tahoe area is through Lake Tahoe Adventures, offering a variety of tours for all ages.

From the heart-pounding downhill track of the Saxon Creek Trail (nickname: Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride) to the gorgeous Flume Trail there are rides for every technical level. For the truly ambitious, you can link trails and ride seven summits in one day.

Tahoe South has been designated as a Bike Friendly Community, so bike paths for the social spin are plentiful and so are local bike shops staffed by experts that rent and sell quality bikes. The famed loop around Lake Tahoe is 72 miles of scenery: deep blue water, Douglas Fir groves, and breathtaking views of Emerald Bay. The road also passes quaint waterfront lodging and plenty of eateries to fuel the journey.

The South Lake Tahoe area has six distinctive golf courses, each with its own vibe and views.  From the world-renowned Edgewood Golf Course directly on the shores of Lake Tahoe, to the mountain-pines environment of the Lake Tahoe Golf Course, there are courses available for all desires.   For even more variety of courses, just a short 20 miles away are a number of courses in Douglas County and Carson City, Nevada.

Forest Suites is located directly across from the Van Sickle Bi-State Park, which accesses scenic trails and views of Lake Tahoe and the majestic Sierras.  The park is open from late spring through late fall, and is a perfect setting for hiking, picnicking, mountain biking & horseback riding.
